As a Distance Learner cannot really comment on campus/student life/union. Facilities for distance learning are good and student support, if needed, seems very well organized. Good online library although journal coverage is not as extensive as in some universities. TSD has friendly, supportive lecturers and administrative staff, providing an encouraging atmosphere in which to study. Course information is sometimes out of date, vague, or slow to be released ahead of start dates - that could be improved.

As a (much) older student, work placements and career prospects not relevant so have not scored. My major issue was that the list of taught modules for the second year was suddenly reduced to two, completely removing choice. That was disappointing and pushed my studies in a direction that I would not necessarily have chosen.

Making the decision to study at UWTSD was the best thing I ever did, The campuses are all small enough that there is a real sense of community, you get to know everyone and the lecturers and support staff will go above and beyond to make sure you have a great time here. There are loads of opportunities to enhance skills and I have really developed as a person as a result of being given the chance to be involved in representation, clubs, societies and events. There are little bits that could be improved on but that is the same wherever you go and I think that the unique elements of UWTSD far outweigh the niggly bits. Friendly, supportive, fun, and absolutely beautiful.
