Excellent students union, vast range of extracurricular activities and freedom to start new societies/teams. wide range of subjects to study, from what i have experienced there is great choice in modules. Also, night life on top form.

multiple libraries with hundreds of computers, as well as free internet in all uni buildings including accomodation. the largest library, the IC, is open 24/7 every day and has a cafe supplying sugar and caffeine to everyone suffering all nighters. time loses meaning, but it is an interesting experience.

there seems to be a big LGBT and foreign students support network, though i've never had any interaction with them. the uni health clinic is quite good, but tends to have long waiting lists. the councilling support system works well though, from the one instance i used it. It should also be noted that the SU has a no-platform policy.

five stories high with three seperate club rooms, two bars and a cafe among other facilities, it's a great place to go. there are different themed club nights almost every day, and most activities will happen in the SU making it a social hub. favourite thing about the uni.

Sheffield is one of the safest cities around, and has two major universities in it. there are a huge range of clubs and bars that will cater to literally any preference you have. I'm halfway through my second year and have been out more nights than i should have, and have never had any trouble at all.

clubs and societies are very well supported by the SU, and there are regular sports and activities fairs that allow the societies to show off and recruit additional members. i believe they are also subsidized to some extent, which means it won't be too expensive.

Very engaging and professional lecturers for almost every module i've taken, only one module has been without extensive online and powerpoint support.

I haven't looked into job prospects very much, but every other day i get emails regarding job prospects or internships. if that's something you'd care about (and you probably should) then you won't be disappointed.

The accomodation is quite expensive, but i imagine it's the same for any uni. the place i stayed had ensuites, a shared kitchen and a lift, a bit spartan if you're used to living at home with parents but you soon adjust to it.

I love my department. I think a lot of the new buildings use space really inefficiently and it's always hard to find a place to sit

No Epistemology module in 3rd year. Exams should be replaced by a second coursework essay. Lecturers are all really generous with time and feedback.
