The campus is situated in a beautiful area of Norwich, mixing the rural with the city. The brutalist architecture takes some getting used to and isn't very appealing. Norwich is a lovely city but the bus links between UEA and the city are quite unreliable and going outside of Norwich is much more difficult (and expensive!) than it should be. The support services available at UEA are widespread in what they offer and do provide a great service to those who need it, though there are often waiting lists to access some services.

There a few contact hours on my course, but I found this bittersweet. The obvious benefits of this are that you are better able to develop independent study skills and explore your own areas of interest. On the other hand, those that are expecting / desire a high level of contact hours will be disappointed by the amount that is given. The teaching is primarily in person via seminars, workshops and lectures, with occasional guest speakers and online sessions. I find that they are very helpful in understanding the content and provide a relaxed non-judgemental environment to ask questions. The online sessions I find less effective due to the format and feel that they are almost unnessecary for my course.

Expensive location but very chilled area. Large rooms with little "pod" ensuite bathrooms. Good choice for first year accom if you're okay with a low noise environment.

It has many study areas, like the 24 hour library, and it is very good with helping students with their mental health.

There is lots of content and the lecturers are always thorough with their teaching. i would have loved the opportunity to do a year abroad instead of just a semester.

The walls are very thin.
