In terms of the location, contact time, course quality and the feedback you get from the professors at NCH, I couldn’t have asked for a better university experience!

It only teaches humanities, so obviously there are no labs, the building is beautiful though. I don’t mind this, but NCH doesn’t own any sports facilities. You have to go though student central.

Academic support is phenomenal- my biggest lecture has 11 people in it. I also have at least one 1-1 tutorial with my professors every week, so you get to know them and they really care. NCH makes a lot of pastoral care available to students, but I know less about this because I haven’t needed it.

It’s active and tries hard.

Everyone does LAUNCH, which is a business course taken over all three years that covers things like interview etiquette, financial literacy, business planning and public speaking. We also have a careers advisor.

NCH has been wonderful. The atmosphere is always positive, staff and students are all so friendly and there is a sense of togetherness and openness here that other universities don't seem to have. The workload encourages me to try hard and there are always things happening in the area and cool places to go if I need a break. I have met some amazing people and settled into uni life very quickly!

Pretty good, there are multiple kitchens throughout the building where you can help yourself to tea/coffee etc. The JCR is spacious and comfy and there are quite a few quiet places to sit and chill/study. Some of the lecture rooms don't have desks which can make taking notes a little difficult.

You get useful feedback in person from a lecturer on every essay you write, and they are always happy to help with any issues or questions. I haven't had to access personal support yet but the wellbeing group on a Wednesday is very therapeutic and fun.

Yes! Most accommodation buildings are close by and there are so many places to eat and things to do in the area. There are multiple different tube stations and lines within a 10 min walk or less so it's easy to get around.

The classes are small and very interactive, especially Creative Writing. The material is interesting and although writing an essay every week/fortnight is difficult, it helps consolidate my knowledge of every topic we cover.

I think the diploma (which includes the LAUNCH programme) and taking a minor subject increases employability, rather than just doing a single honours degree. The careers centre is very helpful, and I got to have a meeting where I was given lots of help to improve my CV.
