I am a mature student and had been out of education for a while, so I opted for the degree with a foundation year. Whilst it does add an extra year onto my degree, I do not regret my decision in the slightest. The foundation year was the perfect way to ease me back into how to be a student and helped me familiarise myself with the layout of the university before the real intensity of the course started. I think all unis have some flaws, but overall, I really cannot complain in the slightest. My personal experience of the UEA has been amazing so far. The lecturers went above and beyond to try and make online learning as painless as possible when we first entered this pandemic and they quickly overcame any teething problems. I feel that my course offers the perfect mix of teaching styles- there's a combination of lectures and interactive workshops which really helps to cement all the key concepts we need to carry through to exams. The workload is quite intense, but this is a Masters degree, so it's hardly surprising. Whilst it can get stressful at times, the key to success is to stay organised and on top of things. I cannot fault the uni and feel they provide all the resources necessary to succeed, but at the end of the day, it is down to you to put the effort in. I lived in the area before getting accepted into this uni, so I appreciate I'm probably a bit biased, but Norwich is a stunning city with an amazing night life. If you're not a drinker though, there's also plenty of alcohol-free activities, and the broads are just a short drive away so having a day out on a boat in the summer is a really lovely way to unwind. Overall, I am really grateful to be a student at the UEA and (speaking as a mature student), I think it's a great place to study.

I am enjoying the course so much. The content is really interesting and gets me so excited for the future when I can put this all into practice. I have given these ratings based on my experience over the last year, but it is an unfair reflection on the uni's full potential. COVID meant that all my lectures were online last year and, whilst this was something I really struggled with, we were in the middle of a pandemic and the lockdowns meant that the uni didn't have any choice so I don't blame them for the quality of my teaching. Since being back face-to-face this semester, I already feel it's a much more efficient and productive way of learning and I am slowly starting to thrive.

The uni is right next to the hospital so there are numerous job opportunities for students. Norwich is an amazing city to live in and I feel very happy and safe here.

such a cultural uni is UEA, and everyone loves it here, this is why we are voted number 1 for student satisfaction in the NSS (national student survey) and we're number 1 here on whatuni as well!!!! isn't that good enough reason for you to come join us???
