I have really enjoyed my time so far at Glasgow Uni. I have met my adviser's other students, and we have monthly group meetings to discuss our progress and see if the other students have any useful feedback or ideas. I have received great service from the university disability service, including a support worker while on campus. I have joined a netball club and enjoying making use of my gym membership.

Excellent careers service, can book appointments and mock interviews etc any time. Not many work placements for my course. There are a variety of courses available to PGR students to gain transferable skills such as first aid, computer safety and statistics courses, among many others

-> Most: Very self directed, so I have a massive say in how and what I learn. My adviser is VERY helpful and gives great feedback. -> Least: Compulsory courses that don't seem massively interesting or useful.

All good. 4 unions cover everything that could be needed from nightlife to sport and student issues such as housing etc.

Very good, lots of study spaces as well as recreational areas.

Good distance to allow me to stay at home. Uni is well situated near Byres Road and other busy roads with shops and restaurants.

Massive amounts of clubs to choose from. My biggest issue is that most sports clubs are to competition oriented and don't have a recreational side to them

-> Academic - My adviser is excellent, he gives great feedback and allows me to have a say in my learning. He is also available most of the time if you want to go see him about a problem you are having. -> Personal - the uni has a great counselling service, with a website that directs you to useful links, a nightline call service for people having uni related problems and the opportunity to seek actual counselling such as CBT.

The life in the city is not that expensive, you just have to learn how to budget. Future students should learn to never trust scottish weather, if now it's all sunny and shiny, it doesn't mean that within half an hour it can't be a grey and depressing weather.

I am confident it's gonna be alright

I haven't quite enjoyed the chemistry labs, it's hard to follow an experiment when you haven't studied the substances in the lectures. Otherwise I find them all really interesting

the accommodation in student residences is quite expensive, but from what I've heard the private flats are cheaper

a lot of museums, laboratories, and the library is huuuge!
