Stirling uni is quite an enjoyable place to be, provided you suffer through halls for your first year and then move into a considerably better and cheaper flat in town after that. There are only two clubs in Stirling and neither of them are particularly good or cheap, but there are plenty of pubs and bars if you're not afraid of the locals. There is a large Tesco within walking distance of the town which has everything you would need.

Not enough communal seating areas, especially in the atrium (where most food outlets are). Commonly large numbers of students are sat eating on the floor in the Atrium, especially during non-semester time when Nursing and Education students are still in uni. There is never enough computer and study space near exams, and almost all study space is on shared desks offering little privacy.

There is a disability service, student learning services and student support services, which are all pretty average and suffering from a lack of resources. Support in accommodation is good if you have a good porter who you have a good relationship with. All students have a personal tutor, however the value of this remains to be seen for most students.

What does the union even do? Weekly quiz nights seems to be the only presence they have. The union bar isn't cheap and is only really frequented by those living on campus.

A flat in the town centre is much more affordable than uni accommodation and is within short walking distance of the bus and train stations, and the thistle shopping centre which has everything you would really need.

Certain clubs at Stirling have been marred by racist and sexist activities over the past couple of years. Most clubs find it problematic if you can't attend every practice or event which makes it difficult for students who are working alongside their degree to participate.

There has been a recent overhaul in accommodation, with prison cell rooms being replaced by airy too-white apartments (Beech and Willow). The price point for these is not even an option for most students whose parents aren't paying their rent, hence the low score. Other accommodation on campus is liveable but not the most amazing looking. There are two small shops on campus which have limited stock and are quite expensive compared to their counterparts in town.

There is too much focus on online classes and lectures, which for many students is not accessible. despite many students providing feedback that certain modules would be better in person due to the nature of the content and the complexity of it, it has been responded to with 'it is approved as an online module', so the feedback we're giving isnt really being taken into account. the excessive use of online content also makes it difficult for people who have moved for university to integrate and meet people as we do not have the avenues to meet those on our course. the organisation is also poor and we arent really given great notice to arrange work shifts etc in decent time.

there is an excessive use of online content which make it hard to settle into uni life and meet people. it makes it hard to make connections with others on our course and make friends, especially those who have had to relocate for university rather than be able to commute. there have been a lot of students that have provided feedback that it would be preferred if some modules were online but it was advised that it was an 'online module' without really acknowledging that many students felt it wasnt an effective way to learn that module

JF's feels like it's forgotten about compared to other halls. We have a tiny laundry room with 4 washers and 4 dryers for the 2 blocks of flats. for the last 2+ weeks, we have been down to 3 washers and dryers as one of each is out of order. the social space was closed for the whole of 1st semester, and this is part of what we were paying for, so there was no financial compensation for this facility being closed. the location is good as it is within walking distance to the campus and supermarkets. our flat has recently been renovated, but there are still flaws within it, the hot water for the ensuite rooms is insufficient, as the showers come from the tanks which take 2 hours to heat, and by the time 1-2 people have had a shower or washed dishes, it means that you can be halfway through washing your hair etc and it suddenly goes cold. for this type of set up, electric showers would be better
