The best thing you can do here is to make the most of things, particularly university social events so you can meet new people. In your first couple of weeks, it’s really important to just say yes (within reason) and enjoy yourself. In your second and third years you have less time to get involved with things so get as much done as you can in first year before the workload gets too heavy and you don’t have time on your side.
