Excellent overall facilities - encompassing all of campus, the Student's Union, and official accommodation (accommodation is also expanding!). Facilities are clean, plentiful, easy to use, and overall useful. Library is a great, quiet place to study with plenty of book selection for both course study or your own personal reading as well as generous a generous loan time of one month. Library ground floor is also open 24/7 to accommodate students of all study needs and schedules.
Location is perfect for everything - main campus (Lanyon Building) and SU are close to city centre - a 20 min walk - making it very convenient without being in the hustle and bustle of the centre itself. Excellent places for food and drink (including alcohol for nights out etc.) on both the Malone Road/University Road and the parallel Lisburn Road - examples include the Botanic Inn (BOT), The Post House, Maggie Mays, Caffe Nerro, Parlour, Villa Italia, KFC, Little Wings, and so much more! For groceries, there is a Tesco Express a one minute walk from the main campus and a Eurospar in both the Student's Union and beside Elms BT9 Student Village (15 min walk from main campus). Plenty of entertainment both in the city centre and around the campus area, including Queen's own Film Theatre just opposite the main campus.
Campus feels modern and up-to-date whilst preserving the beauty of the old architecture, making it a great place to study.
Thankfully and brilliantly, plenty of student support around the University, including many facilities inside the Student's Union (Advice SU etc.). Many events around campus regarding money management etc. as well which has been amazingly helpful. Official accommodation also contains a Residential Life Team and Security for support and wellbeing, as well as safety. Each student is also assigned a personal tutor who they can approach regarding any queries or issues and who will do a checkup every semester to ensure everything is okay. Also, every School (e.g. Arts, English and Languages) will have their own coffee mornings, Build-A-Bear etc. events to encourage regular study breaks and to take time out for yourself to protect your mental health.
Brilliant lecturers who are not only subject specialists but also fantastic teachers who ensure their materials are easy to understand and well-explained (even though the concepts are difficult - it's uni) and are always happy to help with any issues. Additionally, all staff members are exceptionally kind and helpful too.
Queen's evidently cares about its students - I've had a fantastic time thus far and will continue to do so. It is a highly ethical university.
Overall, fantastic place to study! Couldn't recommend it enough! And extremely safe; it's well protected by fantastic security!

My course (BA Music and Audio Production) is extremely well-thought-out and well-designed. For first year, there are five compulsory modules (varies by individual course). The modules are mainly introductory in nature (e.g. introduction to composition, fundamentals of sound etc.) that allow students from all different backgrounds to understand the need-to-know and fundamental principles of concepts to prepare them for years 2 and 3 without over-stretching or confusing us. The modules are of appropriate difficulty - challenging, but not mentally wracking, exactly how they should be.
Apart from unusual events (e.g. a storm), my course is taught in-person in the way of lectures, tutorials, and workshops. Lecturers are subject specialists but also understand how to best teach a university class, ensuring the course is engaging. Lecturers plan the syllabus into manageable chunks without covering too much too soon, and assignment deadlines are set appropriately, allowing for planning and time to complete.
Course hours are good - enough time is given outside of teaching for the student to manage well and study.
Contact with lecturers is good - they are usually quick to respond to emails or notifications on Canvas. Lecturers are also enthusiastic to help with any issues and always want the best for us as students and learners.
Overall: excellent!

What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
I live in Elms BT9 - Queen's Student Village.
The location is excellent - only a 20 min walk (max) from the main campus, the village is located at the upper end of the Malone Road. This unique location allows for peace and quiet, rather than near the hustle and bustle of the city centre. This also means that nature is more prominent around the area; it's lovely to hear birdsong in the morning or to see hares running about!
Safety is excellent. The village is guarded by a well-trained security team 24/7. Because of this, it's completely safe to walk around even at night. Past 11pm, only students who live in the village are allowed entry - apart from student guests who must be signed in prior to their visit. In the extremely unlikely event of an emergency, security is rapid to respond.
The internet is extremely efficient and fast - even though many people are using it at the same time.
The value for money is excellent - my accommodation is £115 per week (as of 2026) with heating, electricity, water etc. included. Queen's also allow you to pay in various ways - you could use a direct debit plan, for example. Larger apartments in the village do cost more - up to about £157 per week, although there are some more facilities and usually for this price an ensuite is included, as well as more space. Excellent pricing in my view for the current economy.
Property management is very good overall - cleaners deep clean the kitchen and bathroom every week, although it's up to us to ensure a clean overall living environment. Any minor issues are usually resolved within maximum of 24 hours, though usually shorter; if a major issue arrises, this is dealt with virtually immediately.
Excellent overall!
