Lack of integration into the city. My department doesn't offer ways to get involved with local venues, or communities to play, discuss, teach music. The facilities are not very impressive. The best part has been the friendliness of the city and the amount of students makes it easy to make friends and have a good social life. Also the fact that there are quite a lot of international students.

Some modules feel completely pointless and I haven't learnt anything on the music research skills module. I have learnt lots on the understanding music and music in history and culture modules.

I love the location because I can get into the city centre easily, the uni easily, and I can go into Burley, Headingley, and Meanwood easily where there are lots of nice bars and cafes for students. The halls is nice and quiet and mostly friendly residences. I don't think the kitchen and bathroom are very functional and there is always a problem with something like the fridge or shower.

amazing student life with a bustling and diverse union buildings, filled with a bar, pub, cafes, foodstuffs, a co-op, three event venues, and common spaces. there are always lots of events and fun going on, but also tons of space and facilities for studying or just chilling. leeds is an amazing and busy city as well, with so much going on within the city centre - all accessible by foot, since everything's compact and close together.

the support and guidance given by my academic tutor was amazing and crucial to my wellbeing. i generally liked and enjoyed the courses, as they provided necessary theoretical information for a career in management in the music industry. however i did expect a more vigorous, practical, industry-focused course along with more interaction between peers, lecturers, and industry people. the first few months was hectic will way too many assignments, however the remaining half a year was too chill for my liking. if it wasn't for my elective module, i was basically done after february. one thing i hated was how facilities such as studio rooms within the school of music was generally not open to students of this course.

leeds is a busy, compact, and walkable city with lots of bars, pubs, event spaces - there are lots of cultural events going on as well every day. prices are generally affordable here as a student. public transport is a bit scuffed with the buses being late or missing, but since its really walkable i don't have much of a problem with it. the city is definitely still growing with lots of new residential and office developments, so there should be an increasing amount of opportunities in the years to come

20 min walk to city centre and train station. 15 min walk (uphill!) to the campus. there's a co-op right across the street, and lots of restaurants and shops within a 5-10 min walk. only slight downside is that there is no common area in each flat, only a kitchen with tables. they just upgraded the internet as well, so there's an access point in each room.
