The campus at Warwick has all the facilities you need: coffee shops, night clubs, a gym, many study areas, and even an on-site supermarket - Rootes. I feel safe on and around campus and enjoy walking down to Gibbet Hill campus, where I have my lectures, as it is a very scenic and calming route. I feel main campus lacks the same atmosphere as Gibbet Hill due to it being so big and also quite industrial looking/run down in parts (for example round the library area). There are lots of societies to join and something is always going on to get involved in! Student support is not great in my opinion. The feedback you get on assignments is very brief and not very specific to your piece of work, which makes it difficult to use it constructively to improve.

There are a decent number of contact hours per week, however the hours per term is very inconsistent. First time had a moderate amount of lectures per week, whereas 2nd term is very busy and 3rd term is very quiet. It would be better to manage workload if this was spread more evenly. Teaching varies a lot depending on the lecturer: some lecturers I find very engaging and interesting to listen to and enjoy going to their lectures, but some tend to just read off PowerPoints which seems a bit pointless. The Neuroscience course at Warwick is very biology heavy whereas it is more psychology focused at some other universities, I would have hoped to do more psychology work in my neuroscience degree alongside the biological aspects but maybe that will happen in 2nd or 3rd year. First year for all life sciences degrees is very biochemistry heavy as well, and some of this seems irrelevant to my degree and future career hopes. The neuroscience lecturers are all friendly and knowledgable. Neuroscience labs are very interesting.

The University of Warwick has great professors in its Life Science departments and the large variety of different societies, allows for everyone to find their place and feel somewhat at home quite quickly at the uni. The only issue I really have is the multitude of different interfaces that once has to navigate and routinely check. Perhaps if it was all assembled in a more coherent manner it would add less stress and confusion.
