One of the best parts of the university is its location and its overall environment - never overly crowded and lots of open spaces and so always gives out a fresh atmosphere. On the other hand, one of the worst aspects would be its budgeting. I have heard that some clubs including my own that operate under the university do not get enough funding in order to do so.

I like how many lecturers make their best effort to involve themselves in the content they are teaching as well as taking extra steps to defy the university expectation of professors only being there to introduce the content by guiding students during the lecture (profound explanations and answering questions) and outside lectures (recommending books, creating practices).

I believe that the accommodation I am staying in is such a great deal for its price with ample of room space as well as a shared space (kitchen and bathrooms) that never get congested. The university also provides fast and reliable Wi-Fi connections for all devices that allow for it. Shared spaces are also cleaned regularly . E-mail bulletins are also sent out regularly that allow students that stay in accommodations to keep up with any notices or news. The location on the other hand (specifically for the hall in which I am staying in) is one of its downsides. There are other accommodations that are situated perfectly in the middle of course rooms and the center of the campus while Wolfson Close is a 15 minute walk to the furthest lecture hall.

Some parts of the campus are great but others a little outdated. Of course the ziggurat student halls have been abandoned and it’s kind of odd to me that they’re still there. Library is great but would enjoy more room for the ‘non-silent’ floors as there’s normally never anywhere to sit. Some of the bathrooms could use some improvement as well ie the library bathrooms- they’re too small. Lived in accommodation last year (Britten house) and really enjoyed my time there but for how much students are paying, the metal countertops are an awful look and kitchen storage was inconvenient. Besides that, love the UEA community and making lots of great memories here.

Most of my lectures are very helpful and knowledgeable. The modules seem very well-organised and blackboard site is easy to navigate. However a lot of my lectures are in Elizabeth fry where it is really cramped and that is the only thing I have to complain about this year.

Mentioned this earlier already but I think the halls I stayed in were way overpriced for what they were. The kitchen didn’t even have a proper oven and the hobs were horrible. It wasn’t aesthetically pleasing to look at either even when it was as clean as can be. Barely any storage.
