Roehampton is a university which I have studied at for 4 years now due to doing my foundation degree here. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a student at Roehampton and believe that it is a great option for prospective students. The university has a fantastic library, which has amazing team members who are always happy to help. They offer support for students with studiosity, the academic achievement team and many other great services to ensure students are supported when writing assignments. The lecturers, in my experience have been majorly supportive, and always at hand via email or telephone when in need of assistance for any queries. On the nursing course, we have two incredible simulation centres which consists of teaching spaces, realistic settings (ward/community rooms) and also state of the art equipment to practice the required skills. The university also have the best disabilities team to support those with extra learning requirements, my study skills tutors have always been very professional, friendly and understanding of my needs. The university also has amazing cafes especially the hive who use sustainable ingredients within their tasty vegan dishes, and also offer the best coffee and hot drinks at Roehampton. There is also multiple diners, coffee shops, an on campus shop, the student union etc all within a beautiful parkland campus which boasts spectacular views as the seasons change through the year.

The Lecturers are always happy to help, even out of teaching time where you can contact them via email or telephone. We have fantastic facilities, especially the 2 clinical simulation buildings which are both equipped with state of the art equipment and have can create a realistic simulation feeling. The lecturers are all extremely welcoming and approachable and teach students to a very high standard to ensure we have the knowledge and skills to become competent nurses. The course is high in contact time, meaning we usually have 3 full days per week on campus, however some sessions where required can be delivered remotely as they do not always require students being on campus. Students usually take part in 2 full assessed placements per year (6-8 weeks each) and at Roehampton you get to experience a variety of different placement settings. The only downside of any nursing course is the lack of social life which can be difficult when other courses have so much free time to enjoy socialising. We also usually start earlier than other courses and have less holiday due to the intensity of the course and the hours required to fulfil the registration requirements.
