Bradford has such a diverse culture, you get to meet so many different people from all around the world. Various cuisines are found 10 minutes away from the uni, Indian, Chinese, Mexican, so many different cuisines can be enjoyed. The uni has a fantastic counselling service, who can provide fantastic support. There is also a Diversity and Inclusion leadership team who help to embrace diversity and allow staff to meet students of colour to learn about their experiences. Bradford has a team of sabbatical officers who are students themselves who help enhance the experience at the uni. Campus is large and has many faculties, for engineering, science, languages, all of these have their own separate building apart from the main building. The labs are modern and the uni has access to cadaveric material to teach anatomy. Simulation is also used to as an effective teaching tool. Lecturers are all amazing and all willing to help. Some lecturers will even reply to emails outside of uni hours because they are so dedicated to making students achieve the best they can. A discussion board is available for any queries so everyone can benefit from the response. However some downsides are that not many people are aware of the Diversity and Inclusion Scheme, more could be done to make people aware that it exists.

Course content is of good quality, everything that I expected to learn I am being taught as well as some challenging new material. Course is full time and on campus, with frequent contact with personal tutors so concerns can be discussed. Most of my lecturers are hard working and have PhD's themselves so they are specialists in the subject they are teaching. As it is a foundation year, there are no work placements or internships nut there is many career prospects with the Foundation year. You can transfer to any healthcare course at Bradford after this year and some even transfer to Medicine so there is a wide range of career aspects. The facilities are amazing. For anatomy a special lab with cadaveric material is used and simulations are used to learn about the structures of the human body. The way anatomy is taught allows students to use their own knowledge to come to conclusions about certain conditions and helps develop what students already know. So much help is available for all subjects in the form of workshops and quizzes and drop-in sessions, there are so many opportunities to raise any concerns with the lecturers and strengthen anything that pupils do not understand.

Diversity is one of the best things about Bradford. So many different cultures all come here and here at the university, diversity is embraced. With the Diversity and Inclusion scheme, students and staff can get involved to help end racism and be actively anti-racist. Cost of living is moderate. There are not many supermarkets near the university but there are plenty of places to eat out and the university is a short 10 minute walk away from the city centre. Public transport is moderate as there are not may trains from where I live to Bradford. And they all have to go via another station. It can take up to 1 hour to travel from home to the uni. There are a lot of part time work opportunities at Bradford as well as plenty of volunteering opportunities. Many new cafes and restaurants are opening and they provide potential jobs for people who are looking for one. Bradford is not the safest place to live. There are frequently police strolling the streets to keep the area safe, especially on a night. Many cars also speed above the speed limit which is dangerous for pedestrians.

There could be more spaces for students to sit down during their lunch breaks, the seating in Richmond building should be more as there’s never space during lunchtime.

I would like to see more sessions about where this degree could take you in terms of after graduation.
