I love University of Sussex because the campus is so beautiful. It is also well equipped and the lecturers are amazing. The school also has a good student support system so you never feel lost as an international student. There is always a staff to ask questions if you don't understand anything. The student center on campus is also a very great place to visit and I look forward to going there every time. I think the school could improve by having more accommodation on campus especially for families. The library is also another great place on campus. There are so many books which makes it impossible for you not to find the book you are looking for. I would also like to mention the fact that there lots of students jobs on campus. So if making extra money while studying is your thing or you simply want to boost your CV or add to your work experience. Then University of Sussex is definitely the place for you. Have I also mentioned the fact that they have a great instalment plan for the payment of tuition fees? Yes the University offers you a flexible option of paying your school fees which is absolutely great. There are so many things to love about University of Sussex and so many reasons why it's such a great place to study but here are just a few of them.

I love my course, Journalism and Media studies. The lecturers are amazing and very easy to reach. All our classes are taught in person which I really like. There are also modern facilities in each seminar workshop. However I do not like the fact that there are no work placements or internship opportunities. I definitely would have been much better if there were internship opportunities and job placement after the program.

The city of Brighton is a very lovely and bubbly place. It also has a sea which is simply very beautiful and relaxing. The public transportation system is 100 percent. However, the cost of accommodation is very high. A lot of students opt to stay in neighbouring towns such as Eastbourne, New haven and Hastings which has a more bearable cost of accommodation. There are connecting trains from these towns which makes it very easy to commute to school.

I love the course that I study - the modules are always engaging in terms of critical thinking and my modules are always interesting to me. I also really like the newly opened student centre, and I’ve used it often to go in and complete my work and focus. However, outside of academic study the university is a little lacking. Firstly i feel as though the student union and societies aren’t very encouraging of bringing students together and organising events for people to interact with each other unless you participate in a sport. I have compared this to other universities and the experience seems more interactive and engaging as societies will organise events in/off campus for people to meet and socialise with each other, as sometimes societies people have already formed their own groups and it is hard for people like myself to branch out. Another thing is I feel as though the support for people of lower socioeconomic backgrounds is a lacking when it comes to on campus accommodation. I lived in lewes court last year, and in comparison to other accommodations such as east slope - when problems with the accommodation facilities arose, east slope were more attentive to the tenants needs and responded quicker in contrast to tenants in lewes court. And now with the news of west slope being built (I believe lewes court will eventually be demolished and in future, Norwich house too) there becomes less and less available options for students of a lower income background to be able afford on campus accommodation as all the newer builds are more expensive.

As previously mentioned, I love studying my course and I find the course very engaging and interesting. My lecturers and tutors are all very helpful and understanding and are willing to help whenever needed and were quick to check up on students with work. However I do feel that there is no opportunity been given (as far as I’m aware) for students on my course being offered potential placements or internships related to my course. That being said, I have taken it upon myself to research internships related to my degree that I could potentially apply for when I graduate or during the summer break this year so I can build my experience and take some steps forward in my career.

I didn’t realise that there would be individual sections for this as I’ve already discussed all of this. Although another thing i would like to add is the dissolution of circuit laundry - I believe it is a complete rip off and a waste of students money, and especially when you consider that every household has their own washing machine in the Bright helm accommodation.
