Every teacher is easy to reach out to, the facilities are great, although hires & loans is very difficult for certain students to get into due to numerous tests they have to take, which results in multiple students asking one person how to get or do this and that. Also, would be nice to get more modern, quality photo cameras in Hires & Loans. Additionally, as a media student, i’d love to get more assignments on making industry-standard, creative media work such as promo tabloids/posters, magazines, websites etc. rather than doing similar stuff to what i did in my media lessons in college. Other than that, uni is great and i’m dreading going back for the xmas break, can’t wait to already come back!

I’m generally pleased with my course content, although like i said having assignments on creating real media industry-standard work would be of a massive advantage eg. creating adverts, magazines, promo posters etc

Firstly, thing that makes studying here really good is the facilities. As a student ambassador part of my job, is to speak to prospective students about my experience here. We have multiple radio studios, TV studios, free Adobe creative cloud subscription, and access to MacBook and PC’s! Also food is fairly affordable here. You can get a burger with chips for under £4 or a full English breakfast for under £3. The university and most of the accommodation is in the heart of the city centre. Therefore, it makes it easy to get to. However, I wish we were given more information about optional modules. We used to have 10 minute, and informative videos about optional modules but they were removed. Personally, I found them very useful, and I think they should be brought back.

One of the best aspects of my course is the fact that we can study different modules across different courses. For instance, even though I am a Media and communication student, I have studied different modules to do with the journalism and music. On the other hand, I wish there were more tutorial hours available from lectures. I understand that lecturers teach multiple classes, and have lives outside of university, but sometimes I wish there were more appointments available.

During my first year of university, I lived in Lakeside. I lived with five other girls, and two boys. I enjoyed the kitchen, it was very beautiful and modern, but the bathroom was a bit outdated. Also, some of my flatmates were quite dirty and hypocritical, which made cooking in the kitchen, a chore sometimes. However, it was located in a very convenient place, because I lived 10 minutes from the bullring and 15 minutes from the New street station
