The best thing about the University of Brighton, and one of the key reasons I chose it, was the amount of access it grants students to the facilities. As Brighton undertakes no research, all the workshops, labs and equipment is available for student use, right from the first year. The technicians are competent, helpful, and are always happen to help with use of the tools available, both for academic or personal use.
Downsides of the university of Brighton include somewhat poor communication with students in terms of timetables, course content, and events, and a handful of technical issues with the student portal, app, and student union website.
In terms of location, the wide city of Brighton is excellent in term of student life and atmosphere, but the university campuses are a fair distance from the part of Brighton that contains these things. The specific parts of Brighton in which the campuses are located are fine, but a bus journey is required for most social events.
Overall, however, I would recommend Brighton as a good choice of university, especially if you are concerned about your ability to adjust to the university setting. I found the support available when I asked for help with my adjustment absolutely incredible - with a wide team of competent staff all proving very generous with their time.

The subject facilities at Brighton are absolutely exemplary. As Brighton undertakes no research, all the workshops, labs and equipment is available for student use, right from the first year. The technicians are competent, helpful, and are always happen to help with use of the tools available, both for academic or personal use.
The course content is also of a good variety, and competently delivered.
Lecturer availability is also excellent; so far all of my lecturers have been available for contacting outside of lectures and have proved promt and helpful every time I have done so.
The only negative I would state is a lack of any kind of module overview being available to see what is coming up in future, as I would very much appreciate this but it has only been available for a few of my modules thus far.

Brighton's public transport is probably the best I've seen. It's not especially cheap, but it is reliable and thorough in its connectivity.
The centre of Brighton holds a brilliant student life, and safety is no issue. There is a huge variety of bars and pubs, the beach is lovely, and there are a good variety of other leisure activities such as arcades, cinimas, bowling, etc.
Further afield, however, in the council estates and in the parks after dark, I have heard of negative experiences in terms of safety, and there are a handful of places you are advised to avoid in the evenings.

University halls
What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
Brighton's univeristy halls are all very modern, only having been built last year and the year before. Facilities are good, room size is good, and the general atmosphere of the surrounding area is pleasent. Cleaning of kitchens and living spaces is good and reliable, though wider areas such as stairwells and the pavement outside the building has seen a build up of debris.
The wifi is intermittent, but fast when it is up. The reception staff are keen to help, but don't always know what they are talking about.
