Great facilities in all campuses, friendly staff who are always willing to help. Everyone is made welcome and a wide diversity of people at NTU to make new connections and great friends.

The facilities for my course have always been extremely good especially during my first year. There is loads of equipment that you'll use from 3D printers to laser cutters. All of this is topped off with lots of group work which helps to integrate you well into the course and help make friends. However if you live on campus at Clifton there's not much to do besides the Point which is basically an expensive student bar. I found myself and mates often travelling into the city at least 3-4 times a week just out of boredom. This isn't helped by the fact it takes roughly 25-30 mins to get there by bus. The halls can get pretty lonely at times as there isn't communal rooms with TV's/activities so most of your free time will either be spent in the kitchen or in your room.

Almost all of my lectures were in person during my first year and all have been in person during my second. I normally go in every day so the course can be quite full on but it is quite relaxed when compared to other courses that require lots of external reading. The first year blends practical and theory much better than the second year does but both have been enjoyable. All of the lecturers are very knowledgeable in their subject area but some struggle to portray the theory in an easy to digest way. This means you may have to email/call them for clarification. Some areas of the course can be a little dull although this can sometimes be down to the lecturer. I haven't experienced much real life application especially when it comes to getting a job or at the very least guiding us to sectors in industry that our studies would be suitable for.

As you share the flat with 9 other people chances are you'll probably get along with at least 3-5 of them so making friends is fairly easy. The rooms are basic but fine for what you need in your first year with an on suite and large desk area. The kitchen has adequate equipment nothing too fancy but easily enough to make decent food. As there isn't a TV in the kitchen if your flat isn't that sociable you'll end up spending a lot of time in your room which can get a bit lonely. If anything breaks the hall management sort it out fairly quickly and are always at the desk to let you in if you've forgotten your key. Ground floor flats aren't great as people tend to bang on the windows when they come back from nights out. I think in terms of value for money it isn't great as its around £7000 for the year which seems steep especially once you start looking at private student accommodation in the city.
