The Uni is extremely focused on shoving people into the job market (training labour force) and this attitude is extremely toxic for people who are interested in doing more theoretical research or students who want to stay in academia.

Since the university is solely focused on "employability" the curriculum and optional modules for a math degree are just ridiculous. Imagine there is no Topology course in a Math degree there is no course in Mathematical physics there is no course in e.g. dynamical systems, elliptic curves, differentiable manifolds, algebraic geometry, category theory, etc. . Instead there is 100 semesters of "numerical analysis" (read "how to use python as a calculator", since proper numerical analysis is a sophisticated mathematical topics and it is far from programming) why ? Because HW wants to train labour force. How to make students of an art department more employable? Well, teach them accounting, but really, is that the reason that you go to an art department?

It was good in general. A bit cold though.

Good uni, location and facilities however have found it difficult to locate relevant contact info and email addresses to get in contact with student services/ schools
