The university is fantastic for career preparation, especially in my course, where we’ve worked on LinkedIn, CVs, and professional development with great support from tutors, including one-on-one sessions to improve placement readiness. The modern, clean facilities, like lecture halls and seminar rooms, also enhance the experience. However, mental health support needs improvement; when my friend missed weeks of lectures and seminars due to struggles, the focus was more on her attendance than her wellbeing. I’ve had emails about support, but it’s not enough. Greater awareness through posters, proactive outreach, and compassion for students missing classes or assignments could make a big difference,

I think my course is well-taught, and I really appreciate how the deadlines for assignments in the first term were spread out, which made things much less stressful compared to the previous term where due dates were packed closely together. I like the teaching overall, and I find the modules and assignments both relevant and enjoyable. However, I feel there wasn’t as much support for placements compared to other courses. For example, some courses had seminar tutors running specific sessions to discuss placement opportunities, offer personalized recommendations, and provide one-to-one help for preparing for assessment centers, which I didn’t experience in my course. Having that kind of tailored guidance would have been really helpful.

The room itself was nice and comfortable, but the overall experience with the accommodation was disappointing. The maintenance was terrible, with the lift constantly broken, which was a huge inconvenience. On top of that, the management was poorly organized and unresponsive to issues. While the space itself had potential, these problems made it feel like poor value for money for a private accommodation by Student Roost.
