The university is a great place to study, with a vibrant campus life and a strong sense of community. Plenty of fun events throughout the year keep students engaged and connected. The many societies on offer also provide excellent opportunities to make new friends and expand social networks. With a smaller campus, students have the chance to connect easily with lecturers and peers, which enhances both academic and social experiences. However, there are a few areas for improvement. The limited washing facilities, which are located far from some accommodations, can be inconvenient for students. Additionally, more collaborative study spaces would support group work and creativity. Overall, while the university offers a supportive and engaging environment with a beautiful, green campus, addressing some minor issues would make the experience even better.

The in-class sessions provide valuable face-to-face interaction with both lecturers and fellow students, allowing for engaging discussions, group work, and immediate feedback. Course hours are well-distributed, and the schedule allows enough time for both in-depth study and personal commitments. The university’s approach to teaching is designed to be both flexible and thorough, ensuring that students can learn effectively while still having time for other activities. Contact with lecturers is also great. The smaller class sizes make it easy to ask questions and engage in discussions, and lecturers are always approachable, whether it’s during office hours or via email. This makes the learning experience more personal and helps to clarify any doubts or concerns quickly.

I’ve rated my accommodation two stars due to several issues that have made my experience less than ideal. One major concern is the distance from the washing facilities, which can be inconvenient. Additionally, there are maintenance issues, such as a toilet flush that doesn’t work and the ceiling falling down at one point, which really impacted the overall quality of the space. Another challenge has been the condition of the shared living areas, as my flatmates often leave the accommodation in a mess. While this isn’t the university’s fault, it definitely affects the overall atmosphere. The TV in the flat doesn’t work, and the wifi is incredibly unreliable. As a result, I’ve had to pay for unlimited data just to stay connected, which adds an unexpected cost. On the plus side, the mini fridge in each room has been a lifesaver, especially since items left in the shared kitchen are often stolen. Overall, while the accommodation has its benefits, the lack of functioning amenities and poor living conditions have made it difficult to fully enjoy the experience.

But on the flip side, the pressure can be overwhelming. Balancing deadlines, social life, and basic self-care sometimes feels impossible, and there are moments when imposter syndrome kicks in hard. There have been times when I’ve felt completely lost, wondering if I’m actually on the right path or just going through the motions. Still, even with the stress, I wouldn’t trade the experience—it’s been chaotic, challenging, and sometimes exhausting, but it’s also been one of the most defining periods of my life.
