The best part of my uni experience is learning how to live a independent life, and how to enjoy it. York Saint John’s University provides a sense of community, and has sources that help you figure out how to depend on yourself completely. The worst would be loneliness, anxiety, and the struggles of not understanding how to cope. My university has multiple wellness teams and societies that are available, always making sure you know that you are not alone.

The best aspects of taking the foundation year of my course (English Literature and Creative Writing) include the different perspectives it provides. Learning about a topic and approaching it with different perspectives and different disciplines is really interesting. It improves my critical thinking skills, which I value. The worst aspects would be the timetable, which I suspect many students would complain about. The hours seem random, with days ranging from one hour of contact time to five.
