The university’s location is near Brighton centre which makes it easy for students to travel. The campus is quite large however not very accessible for disabled students as lifts are often not working. Facility’s around include vending machines and cafes which serve hot food.

Course it taught in class with ranging hours. Some lectures are excellent at communications however others don’t communicate at all with students.

Varley park is out of the way leaving a long bus journey to get to the centre of Brighton. The bus that used to run for free for students has stopped meaning students pay exceeding amounts just to get to lectures and classes. The bud that does turn up, is always late meaning students are late. The rooms are okay, if you get a double bed you are lucky. The showers flood often and radiators barely work.

I love Brighton University because the staff are so inspiring, supportive, inclusive and passionate about what they teach. The campuses are all very clean and nicely decorated with great facilities. Something that could be improved upon is the amount of non-drinking activities offered during the day on Freshers Week, and generally throughout the term. This would help me and many more students to make friends in safe, non-pressured environments, and learn a new skill or make something productive e.g. arts and crafts. To be able to fit this around my timetable, instead of waiting until the evening would have a huge benefit for me.

I like the fact that my lecturers are so passionate about their subjects as this motivates and inspires me. I have had amazing opportunities for placements, and the uni definitely have good industry connections. With an English Degree, career prospects don't follow a linear pathway, so having more careers advice would be very helpful, and more tutor contact time so the experience is more personalised would also be a positive improvement.
