Great city and opportunities both in and out of the university. However, I don't feel my course was to a very high standard. Pride associated with studying at Manchester.

Not nearly enough computers on campus, despite so much investment in study spaces. Sciences students given printing credit whereas Arts students are not. Food outlets on campus over priced.

Union give great support, however I felt my academic advisor was not good at all. Not all lecturers should be academic advisors, only the ones who will actually be good

Lots of opportunities. However, the union itself prioritises private companies over students

Terrible organisation, some teaching excellent, others low quality, all interesting modules in third year are capped and because they let so many people on to the course you can never get on the good modules and end up with ones that aren't relevant and don't benefit your education. DEFINITELY NOT value for money. They let people in even when they don't meet their offers because the course is so cheap to run

Higher because of opportunities outside of the university, particularly within the students union

Would have been good to see a photo of Oak House bedrooms before I went (they're tiny!) but the size was never a problem. Quite expensive (not as bad as other unis but considerably more than renting a house) but for that you get excellent maintenance.

Getting the opportunity to study abroad as part of my degree is brilliant, most other unis don’t offer this so it particularly won me over in terms of picking Manchester as my first choice. My tips for getting for a place would be make sure you enjoy what you do before you apply, be willing to embrace new cultures and experiences (particularly if you’re going abroad!) and be open to new opportunities as Manchester will provide you with a lot of them.
