The campus is very big and there’s everything you need whether you want to do sports, study, relax, eat or have fun! Classes are modern and well equipped. However, certain accommodations should be renovated or they should be less expensive than they are.

The lectures contents and professors are overall good and the material and assignments are very clear. I love the fact that you have all the material from the beginning of the course so you could start thinking about assignments in advance. However, some courses have coursework in the middle of the course therefore I should work on things I shouldn’t have studied yet and that the teacher didn’t discuss yet.

All of them are very expensive and some of them are not worth the huge amount of money. Most of them are outdated and not cleaned properly when given to you. Also, cleaning staff isn’t always very efficient.

Apart from providing high-quality education, the University of Essex is the place where everyone feels welcomed. The university is also committed to supporting its students throughout their studies, offering a range of services such as academic and personal support, career advice, and wellbeing services. In other words, there is always someone who you can go to. Last but not least, the University of Essex has a beautiful campus, where you can both study and relax.

The best part of the course is that we, students, get to go on a year abroad and get our masters degree all within four years. This course is also very flexible and it allows you to study different modern languages and translation which not many courses offer. The "worst" aspect of the course is the workload that there is on your year abroad. It is difficult to take 60 ECTS credits per year in modules and on top of that write a dissertation. It is not unmanageable but it is still very demanding which does not leave you with much time to enjoy the student life. However, the positive aspects of this course outweigh the less exciting part of it for sure.

Living on campus is simply the best. Everything is super close and making friends is easier than ever since you are surrounded by your peers. For South Courts, you get to meet new people, your flatmates, while it not being overwhelming as it is usually only around four people sharing the flat. Keeping everything clean and sticking to a roommate agreement is therefore so much easier than when you share a flat with a lot of people. You also get quite a spacious room with your own bathroom, which is the best.
