Brighton is a very diverse and accepting place to live in, which heavily impacts the environment at the university. The people I met at the university of sussex and the overall feel have given me the courage to truly be myself. This is in great part thanks to the student union, who I've always felt was 'on my side'.

Lectures are recorded, which for a person with a learning disability like me is a must. PowerPoints are (mostly) given in advance, which really helps in order to be concentrated in the lecture and feel like you know what's going on. There is not much contact with lecturers, and some of them are very condescending. However overall I really like my course and how customisable it is!
