Facilities are good but some buildings need improvement and are extremely confusing to navigate (signs aren’t great sometimes). Sports centre is AMAZING but the gym is small considering how many people use it and it’s a shame to pay £200 and have to wait ages to use equipment because it’s always busy. They have many events for students and everyone is friendly and happy to be here. Sports should be more accessible in terms of price and there should be more non-league sports (e.g. netball for fun not competing)

Academic skills modules are tired and boring and barely teach anything, just creating more work for students. Most lecturers are good and enthusiastic. Suggestions sent to lecturers are rarely followed through. Content is interesting but sometimes feels like its crammed into an hour slot and barely covered

Clean, perfectly located, good facilites. Annoying that theres constant required access and feels like any staff can walk into my private room at any time

The university is a fantastic place to study for several reasons. First, it offers excellent access to facilities such as the gym and library, making it easy for students to focus on their academic and physical well-being. The opportunity to study another language or deepen your English skills is also a great plus. Additionally, the university organizes numerous outdoor events and activities that foster a well-rounded university experience. However, there is room for improvement. For instance, the area of scholarships and financial aid could benefit from more options specifically targeted at Latin American students, who may face unique financial challenges. Moreover, having tutors available for recurring sessions would be invaluable for students who need more support in areas that may not be fully clear in class. This would enhance the learning experience and make the university an even better place for academic growth.

The course is taught in a blended learning format, combining both in-class and online components. While this structure offers flexibility, I believe it would have been beneficial to have more hours dedicated to laboratory work and hands-on practice, especially when it comes to using specific programs and tools. Having additional practice time would have allowed for a clearer understanding of the material and more confidence when applying it in real-world situations. Additionally, having extra tutors available would be very helpful. It would be great to have more opportunities to contact tutors outside of regular class hours for in-depth support, helping us better grasp complex topics and gain a deeper understanding of the course material. This extra support would enhance the overall learning experience and ensure students feel more confident in their academic journey.

The university provides incredible opportunities for growth and support. For instance, I had the chance to participate in I-Lab Innovation & Entrepreneurship, where I worked with UK-based companies to create innovative solutions for their challenges. This experience was dynamic and enriching, allowing me to collaborate with students from different faculties and learn the value of an entrepreneurial mindset. Initiatives like this showcase how the university prepares students to think critically and creatively. The cost of living in the area is affordable, but it’s important to explore local discounts. I recommend visiting Grainger Market in the city for budget-friendly options, as well as M&S, which, while less economical, offers excellent quality. The university also provides a pantry at the Student Union, where students can access free supplies once or twice a week, including fruits, vegetables, and packaged food, offering valuable support. Safety is generally excellent, and students can register online for discounts on metro and public transport, making it easy and affordable to get around the city.

I believe the price is worth the stay at this place, where I met wonderful, diverse human beings, including those with disabilities, all with pure hearts. It's a great hotel. The person in charge of housekeeping is a sweetheart. Overall, having a variety of nationalities made my time there wonderful and important, helping me maintain tranquillity and focus on my studies. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.
