I cannot explain how proud making the right decisions and studying with Arden. I am extremely blessed as I am able to provide for my 6 year old child as a single parent and work part time on top of my studies. The planning and support I have received is excellent which allows all my tasks to be fulfilled accordingly. It is one of the achievements I am extremely proud for and do not want my studies to end. Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, I spoke with my student support team and explained that I want Arden to provide us with LLM and LPC Diplomas. I do not want my studying journey with Arden to come to an end. I could have not imaged that I would have achieved an income alongisde my studies if I had chosen any other universities. This plans perfectly with my life commitment.
Facilities
How good are your university's facilities?
The university facilities are great. Remember, we study as a blended learning. Therefore, we do not require to come in as often but still have facilities avaialable when required. We may not have a Library, but we have access on great support such as online resources. I believe it's brilliant.
Student support
How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).
So, I do not know where to begin. This is a question where I cannot stress enough how comforted, supported and loved we are with our Arden Team. We are a big family and do not hesitate even once to support each other. We have received excellent support and care, even if this support is above and beyond their job role.
For example, I seem to have struggled with one particular module. I knew that the resources were provided online but I am someone who also learns better with in class lectures. I was offered to attend the same classes double in another class as this could boost my confidece in the module. I participated re-cap classes and passed this module which prior to this module I thought I would fail.
Another example, in level 4 of my studies, I could not attend 1 class due to child-care, bare in mind that my attendance is 100%. This only time I could not come, the lecturer did not hesitate even once but provided me with a Link from Adobe which gave me a live in class experience at home. The lecture ensured me that I would not miss out on any vital information.
Next, I get quite anxious when there are in-class exams. My nerves play-up and take over my concentration and I feel completely out of focus. A week before my exam I explained how I felt about the exam to the student support and the support that I received was amazing and heartwarming. This is because they provided me with a 30 minute of meditation. I now follow the same guidance as given by my student support whenever I feel this anxious. IT HELPS :)
The feedback for the assessments are amazing. I mean, It's in depth- it explains what you can do better as well as your strength. It has been written with a careful consideration.
The tutor availability are excellent policies put in place. Within 48 hours you will receive a response, but I have personally not waited longer than 48 hours for any tutor to get back with me as they usually respond much sooner, between 2-4 hours.
Local life
Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?
In Arden we have options available. There is several campuses over in in London and outside London. If under any circumstances you need to move, with support of the staff members whom are able to access to transfer you to the nearest Campus convenient for you. Example, I could not commute to Ealing for a short amount of time, the staff members allocated me a temporarily transit to another nearby Campus at Holborn. I cannot thank enough how great the locations are and how it is accessabile to everyone.
The locations are also surrounded with many nearby coffee shops, restaurants, and a local Library. Some of the local libraries are at walking distance as well as public transport.
Lecturers and teaching quality
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
I enjoy my student journey a lot, Thanks to Arden. We have a range of resources available to us. Such as iLearn, where all our information is taught. In comparison to other universities, where students have to record their lecturers and keep pausing when they are studying. In Arden we use iLearn were our materials are taught and extensive research is also further provided after each lesson is completed.
We are taught a module each. Yes, we take the challange of one module at the time. When a module is completed we get a week break to refresh our minds and take a break of studying and complete the next module, commencing the week after.
In addition, in completion of an assessment, we are provided with great feedback which are all in depth. Explaining the strength and furture developements to take on further on other modules.
We have a great communication system which allows us to interact with other students, as each lesson has an activity task.
I would not say that I can think of anything that I do not enjoy, because I would recommend Arden to everyone. But, for future improvements I can suggest to create an Arden App. As we know, Arden focuses on resources online. It could be a suggestion for future students to access the iLearn through an App which could be downloaded from Mac, Windows or Appstore and Android store. If students are provided with this App they can sign on, It could be more useful and practical.

Career prospects
How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?
I study law. We was offered a meeting with a Law career advisor. This was beyond and above supportive as we are already in touch regarding working-experience. It is amazing support that Arden is gives to the students. I cannot comment on anything else further as what I had wished for Arden to support me with has been delivered.
