Reviewing my university overall the experience has been enjoyable. If you are undecided on whether or not university is for you I would recommend that anyone to do it. It is a once n a life time opportunity and one that although I may change a few things my overall experience and choices is something that I will always stand by and Sheffield is an affordable city, including the university accommodation as well. Definitely do it !

When talking to friends who go to other universities, I always feel as though I'm bragging about Sheffield because there's so much good to say. The facilities are great - especially with the new Goodwin Sports Centre. The location compared to the city and where the student housing is is ideal. I feel supported by department staff, and staff at the SU. The campus feels like it's being improved constantly, would just like to see more green! I feel like the SU offers so much for students and the student life here is unreal.

I cannot fault my course at all. I feel so set up to go and get a job/placement after this year. The lecturers and department staff are always doing everything they can to help us network and set us up for working in practice. The course content is very varied and always interesting - even though I do have my favourites. The contact hours are probably the best of any I've heard and the lecturers are always approachable and will make time for you.

Only thing I'd fault is public transport. SO unreliable. But trains and coaches everywhere! Safety issues like any other big city, and cost of living but Sheffield is dead cheap.

I think it's gone up in price since I stayed there, but still felt a little bit expensive for any accommodation. I know compared to the rest of the UK I was probably getting a bargain, especially with all the other facilities in the village. Security staff and the management team were always friendly and really helpful. Location is a bit far out but you get used to it withing like a week.
