Bournemouth University is a fantastic place to study because of its strong industry connections, hands-on learning approach, and supportive academic environment. The lecturers are approachable and genuinely want students to succeed, and the placement opportunities help in gaining real-world experience. The campus has great facilities, including well-equipped labs and a modern library, and being so close to the beach adds to the overall student experience. There’s also a great sense of community with diverse students and plenty of societies to get involved in. However, there are a few areas that could be improved. Accommodation, especially private rentals, can be quite expensive, and public transport to the campus isn’t always the most reliable. During exam periods, study spaces can get crowded, making it difficult to find a quiet spot. Some courses could also benefit from even more practical learning opportunities. Overall, BU offers a great balance between academics and student life, but a few improvements could make it even better.

The best part of my MSc Information Technology course at Bournemouth University is the in-person learning experience. Since there are no online classes, the lectures are more engaging, and we get to participate in a lot of quizzes, group activities, and discussions, which make learning more interactive and enjoyable. The lecturers are incredibly friendly and always accessible, making it easy to ask questions and seek guidance. The coursework is well-structured, and I spend around 12 hours on it each week, along with another 8 hours on assignments, projects, research, and assessments. However, the workload can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when multiple deadlines overlap. It would be helpful if there were more structured guidance on managing assignments effectively. Overall, the course is well-designed, practical, and engaging, but better workload management strategies could make it even better.
