It is such an easy place to navigate, with the university buildings being place in locations where you are going to adventure out to in your free time meaning it almost becomes natural when you're out and about.

My course is taught through lectures and studios, it's a great way for me to get use to having time to the creative aspect side in my studios but to also get the chance to listen and learn from my lectures

I think choosing Catherine house as my accommodation was the best fit for me, as it was not only opposite a Sainsburys, the location was perfect with getting to across the road from the train station which did not affect my sleep as I couldn't even hear the trains from my room. You was also near multiple other shops with guildhall being a 2 minute walk but also being on the front door step into the town Centre, meaning it's not a long walk back lugging all your food shopping. Same with the university buildings they was no more than a 5/10 min walk, meaning you get that extra lay-in in bed before going to your 9am!

The University of Portsmouth provides amazing facilities. In the creative course’s building they have screen printing rooms/a fully equipped workshop (drills/sanding)/3D printers/ green screen room/vacuum forming , etc. There are so many pieces of machinery and technology that no matter what you’re choosing to study you’ll be able to make the most of the resources to experiment and produce your work to your best ability. The university also have amazing connections which enables us to learn from the best and provides us with only the best opportunities.

My course is a mixture of lectures/seminars and studio time. The lectures are basically a time used to explain what we are expected to do as well as providing us with helpful information to support us in our work. The studio time does sometimes include help and group work but for the majority of it we get on with what we’re behind on or currently working on. The lectures are well spread out so we don’t spend too much time sat in lecture halls.

The amenities included in the rent are good, we are provided with a fully functioning kitchen. There are washing machines/tumble dryers in their own room on the ground floor too , and as much as they’re a little pricey they’re still required.
