I really enjoy the art university Bournemouth as I feel like I belong in a place where I can be myself and express my feelings. I made great friends and relationship's with my teachers. The worst part is that sadly my course is only twice a week and I wish it was more as I could get a lot more done and understand the work better but other than that its a great place x

My course has taught me a lot to become the best version of an interior in the future. The learning strategies have been great. I wish there was more days we can come in and have lessons with the teachers

Very expensive but has great facilities

The campus feel and appearance of AUB won me over before I’d even got inside and spoken to my future course leaders on the Applicant Day. It’s beautiful and modern, and looks amazing in any weather with its bright colours and lighting, and ample greenery. The wellbeing team are great and have helped me loads since I arrived. The food here is a bit on the pricier side than I’d like, which is a shame as there are so many places to get food on campus and the food itself is delicious. I wish there were more clubs and societies though- free ones especially- as I’m only part of one at the moment! And the student union could be better at responding to emails. But this is a minor problem amongst a plethora of praise I have for the campus, student services, wellbeing team, food quality, transport system and community at AUB.

The IAD studios are great, however some of the lecturers are not very clear when explaining tricky concepts or project requirements which often make my class of around 50 students very confused. It feels like we are jumping into a world we don’t fully understand yet as we are so new and come with different levels of experience in the IAD field. There’s lots of opportunities to speak to lecturers hence contact is high. However we are only in two days a week which feels a bit too low as many of us enjoy the environment and would prefer more days in class otherwise we are sat at home working with not enough socialising as our friends are in class for most of the week. There’s lots of graduate futures opportunities already and study skills sessions which is great, loads of trips to London for our course so far, and opportunities to embark on extracurricular qualifications of our own to expand our graduate prospects.

It’s one of the most expensive halls in the UK, and I’m struggling to pay the rent, and I feel many facilities are not worth the money I’m paying. I didn’t initially want to stay here as I can’t really afford it but I didn’t have another option as the cheaper halls sold out almost immediately. I still like being here and there are pros to it, like being fifteen minutes away from the beach, or town, and ten minutes to Asda and the train station. But it’s not a safe area- there’s police here almost all the time, theft and crime. It’s not a safe place to walk around at night due to the road it’s on (York Road) being poorly lit. I wouldn’t want to stay here another year. But I did get lucky with my room allocation- I got one of the bigger windows in my room, with nice flatmates and most things were working and not damaged. Maintenance have been onto fixing things pretty promptly. However a few of the issues I’m still experiencing are taking a long time to fix.
