A very welcoming, community feel. They work hard to support students with their future careers, and even offer work through their own on campus employment agency. Many societies to choose from, with regular events happening!

Unfortunately, there are not many internships and placements available for science students, so you do need to think outside the box and seek opportunities in other ways to gain the necessary work experience. The careers and employment service work hard to get as many opportunities as possible for their students. Each student is allocated a personal academic tutor (PAT) so that there is a direct point of contact available. The head of department is also extremely helpful with any issues that arise. We get a good balance of lectures and free time to study/work.
