Taking Art History & History but course isn’t running after this year so I’ve picked History on here instead. Amazing teachers. Loads of societies and opportunities. Campus is lovely. Administration, ICT issues, and enrolment has serious issues however.

Absolutely love my Art History teachers. Very interesting and fun class conversations, support and sense of belonging. Feel like my abstract thinking, verbal communication and writing skills have increased exponentially. However: Teaching time/ course hours feel a little light. One of my philosophy lecturers reads off a script and delivers quite boring/ sometimes confusing lectures despite the interesting content.

Brilliant community atmosphere, made loads of friends and really enjoyed my time there. Old school vibe to the halls, I found it charming but it was realistically quite dated/old. Shower always ran cold after ten minutes despite calling maintenance many times. My room was massive, loads of cupboard space as well.

I think the facilities are pretty good, and the campus is great - it’s situated right in the middle of the city as well, which means I can get to everywhere fairly quickly. The location is amazing too - something that really adds to the experience, especially so as a history student. All the lecturers I’ve had are incredibly friendly, well-rounded, and knowledgeable, as well as being supportive with queries. Speaking of which, the student union is probably one of the best parts when it comes to support - All the staff I’ve met are lovely, and there’s always something organised or going on. They’ve supported me personally for when I was facing personal hardship, and for that I’ll always be grateful. Overall, Lincoln Uni is a great place to study. I think because the city is quite small sometimes you can be out of things to do quickly, but I don’t really mind that.

My course is great - Modern history is the perfect subject for me, with specific modules being really interesting, as well as useful. We even have a module built around developing our writing skills when it comes to essays, which has helped me tenfold. The lectures on this module and other course related ones are mostly quite engaging - sometimes I’d say there are inconsistencies simply due to all lecturers having a different teaching style, but I think they’re still informative. The hours themselves are pretty good too, although I wish I didn’t have 9am starts - but I suppose that’s something that can’t really change lol. We can contact the lecturers quite easily, whether it be over email or in person, with response time quite quick.
