The best part is that there is a massive community feel and it is quite easy to make friends but the location is quite far from everything else and transportation to other places is quite difficult.

It's quite an interesting course andthe modules are extremely fun but having workshops or seminars in London are quite expensive and we don't get compensated for all of the transportation

I was lucky enough to have been provided a big room and the views from the windows but there were safety issues with how accessible the bathrooms were to everyone and how far the walk is just to access the bathrooms and pantry

I have enjoyed my first year experience, despite it being completely different to what I had expected. The blended learning technique used by the History department at Royal Holloway was engaging and still allowed me to easily grasp concepts without being in the classroom all the time During in-person seminars, I always felt that I was in a safe learning environment and was lucky to still be able to experience face to face discussions and debates to further my learning

When on campus I mostly used seminar rooms (when seminars were in person) and the library. These were clean and tidy spaces with appropriate social distancing measures

All of my courses consisted of blended learning. I found having pre recorded online lectures particularly helpful as I was able to focus a lot better by pausing/rewinding to really understand the content Seminars were in person and through teams which allowed for great group discussion on the content
