The university has a wonderfully close knit community, lectures and professors honestly know you by name and seek to involve you in every lesson you have. The university is incredibly accommodating with special needs even if you don’t have any diagnosis, as long as they can help they will. The student life is often independently organised as the SU doesn’t really have a presence, there are events organised but they’re often poorly organised or poor marketed to little actually attend. Generally, a really high quality education but just awkwardly built buildings and little social life.

Hope is an in-person university, lecture slides are relatively bare, only including the key information, as most is built upon in the lectures and classes they expect you to attend. There is no penalisation for absence but there has been shown to be a direct correlation between final grade and attendance. You can visit lecturers/teachers in the office hours whenever you’re available and don’t have to fight to see them as they’re often available for one-on-one advice etc. You don’t need any computers/electronics to study computer science and they make sure to make the courses as accommodating as possible.

Aigburth Park is such a cute campus located in the nicest area of Liverpool, walking distance from two parks, Sefton and Price, as well as Lark Lane which is perfect with cafes to study in and pubs to go out in the night. The security at the accommodation are really nice and respond immediately when needing to solve issues or contact maintenance who are a separate body. There is sometimes mould in rooms when moving in, but the accommodation provides mould remover on request. All amenities work well and are there, never is something broken or unworking. The wifi is okay, in the beginning the download speed was around 300MB/s but has reduced to around 20-100MB/s a second, probably because of increased usage. The rooms are a good size, I have an ensuite and it’s the same size as other university ensuites that I’ve visited, but ours is the cheapest (mine was £110 a week, whereas University of Liverpool was £128). The campus is a nice semi-traditional building of red bricks which makes it seem even more homely, a nice change from the modernism of the inner city. It’s a very green environment which emphasises the village-ness of the community, I think.
