it would be nice to have more casual hand out areas with couches

The best aspect is the people I am studying with and the fact that I am at goldsmiths and can explore other courses. This course was a true disappointment, it was misadvertised, the students repeatedly asked the staff to be true to the interdisciplinary nature of the topic which was completely neglected. The head director expressed at a Christmas party (in front of students sadly) how proud they were to have been able to recruit so many international students to keep funding their research. This feeling like a kick to the stomach it would be nice if they (the teachers) then would uphold the minimum of jobs and keep us updated or give us or grades back in an appropriate time frame. Not even communication seems to work these days. More than 15 people moves country and continent to study with them, this is completely unaccaptable.

Goldsmiths university is a great place to study! The students are very welcoming and the campus has a good atmosphere. The university has a very chill feel to it however it can be quite disorganised. The years I attended they were centralising the departments hubs all into one, so sometimes it was difficult to find information and support on your particular course, they were better at generic queries. They also striked a lot while I attended which did affect letters attendance. However, the lecturers are very engaging and knowledgeable. They provide you with lots of core skills and a great foundation to go onto postgrad. Despite the university being disorganised they handed Covid-19 really well, adding a safety net to ensure our grades weren’t affected. Overall, the university is very supportive and friendly. The course was inspiring and a great base of knowledge. Just a shame they have a lot of change and disruption going on.

The course was taught online in the first year due to Covid-19 but we got back on campus as soon as we could. The online teaching was still really informative and I don’t feel I missed out massively education wise just the social aspect. When I did return to university 2nd year was intense, I was in four days a week learning 6 modules. This was hard to work around a part time job but doable. The third year however was great and I only had 5 modules split over two terms. So I have only been attending 1-2 days a week. The lecturers were great and are very easy to contact. They plan the lecturers well and the coursework is very relevant. The coursework marking was very inconsistent and would change per module. The feedback varies depending on the marker. Overall, great course and feel well equipped for postgraduate.

London is great to live and has a buzz! However, very expensive and difficult to manage financially. I worked part time and attended full time university which was difficult. Although, all lecturers were recorded so could fit them around work if needed. There is a lot of fun to be had and so many great bars, restaurants and activities!
