As a mature and remote student (100% online) I am extremely happy with my experience thus far.
Without remote capabilities, I would be unable to attend university. The course materials are very industry relevant as well.
Facilities
How good are your university's facilities?
As an online student, I can only speak of the virtual experience and this one has it all.
A truly remote experience - but with plenty of support and online facilities to use. Very happy with my experience thusfar.
Student support
How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).
The support is fantastic. I have ADHD and the SEN rep has been in touch numerous times to check how things are going. Very helpful in this regard.
Local life
Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?
Online student, so this is not applicable.
Lecturers and teaching quality
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
I like that my courses are 100% online. No need to travel in for exams, as they are all assessment/assignment based. Perfect for mature students - or students who prefer to stay home and work while studying.
How many contact hours per week do you have?
30
Career prospects
How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?
There are a lot of resources available to stay on top of the job market, many free courses to grow our skills outside of our current coursework and a lot of communication on career opportunities.

I wanted to go to university at a time where COIVD was a threat globally, so instead of physically going to a university which would require distance learning at home at times anyways, i chose this a s a full time option. The fees have also been lower than standard university fees but this doesn't impact the learning in any way, for me in fact I feel as I have learnt a lot more than I would have done if I went to a standard university as distance learning constantly encourages you to find out techniques and tools online and apply them through tutorials either with the module or on YouTube. It does entail self learning however those doing a course they are passionate about will find this to be hugely encouraging and a big plus. Communicating with other students is not difficult to do as we are constantly communicating and giving feedback and often asked to be a part of group chats to discuss the course overall, however I would say for Arden to further promote collaboration with other students not just on the same module but on the course as a whole would be even more beneficial. Aside from this one recommendation Arden overall is a fantastic university to get the best degree for you and you won't have to think twice about doing a distance learning course as the support will always be there and you will learn just as much (if not more) than any other university.

The course is laid out well and organized too in a way which doesn't overwhelm the student. Lecturers are always available to message with throughout the module and will always response either the same day or the next.
