OVERALL UNIVERSITY RATING
Tell us about your overall university experience so far.
I like my classmates, my teachers and the facilities overall. The lectures are interactive and there are a bunch of interesting events every week. We are also proposed to take part in different field trips organized by our tutors and also we are included in projects. I don't regret coming here and I hope to get the best of this experience and broaden my knowledge.
How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?
Since I came to university there were a lot of lectures about employment and careers. The teachers take very seriously the students and try to give them ideas and encourage them towards great things while also inspiring the necessary knowledge in order to achieve something. Even when we have the regular lectures there is some mentioning about career and future work, plus we have a lot of freedom in this area. From what I heard after we find the field we want to work in we'll beneficiate of assistance from our personal tutors.
Course and Lecturers
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
The best part about the lectures is that they are interactive. We don't get bored, the teachers talk with us about different subjects that we need to learn for a particular class and then we have a lot of challenging tasks we are meant to do. It's ok even if we don't do that well, we can always ask for help from the teachers and also from fellow students. I believe that we have a lot of materials to study from and also the coursework maintains us in the creative state. Also the teachers aren't stiff or strict or scary, they are as friendly as they can in order to make us like what we study and as serious as they can to maintain an educational environment.
What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?
Our Students' Union is very involved in the well-being of the students and the teaching methods. We also have different activities that either take place inside the university or outside, like a field trip for example. The fact that we have the chance to socialize with each other regardless of the course we're studying is a great opportunity for making friends and also connections.
What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
It's interesting to live with other people and until now we managed to get along. The house is nice and so is London.
How good are your university's facilities?
We beneficiate of so many things here that I was completely surprised at first. First of all we have a huge library equipped with computers and laptops that have installed all the programs we need to complete our tasks. We have the chance to copy or print papers almost everywhere in the building as well as internet access. We can stay there and study until midnight from Monday to Sunday. Also we have studios and rooms for group study that can be reserved and used for projects. The classes are all equipped with modern technology and other resources that make our learning faster and more interactive.
Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?
The city is so busy but at the same time really beautiful. It's my first time living alone and in other country at that. I was pleasantly surprised to see that people here in UK are really polite and come to your help anytime. There is also a lot of advance in the technology and the scenery is wonderful. It's always a pleasure to get out of the house.
Societies and Sports
How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?
We have a vast range of societies. From anime & games, Disney to Creative writing and Dance. There is a society for everyone and they also organize a lot of events and take part in competitions.
How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).
We have the opportunity to email the tutors if something happens or if we need feedback and they try to respond as fast as they can. They also give us tips if we ask them in class. There are organizations inside the university that offer counselling for people with disabilities or just stressed out people. There's been a couple of lectures about that where reps from the counselling organization came to speak to us and also give us contact details.
