I love being in the centre of the city in aldgate, the campus has a nice artsy feel and all the facilities are clean and tidy. The arts tutors are enthusiastic and helpful, helping to drive students passion for design. I find the only place my uni lacks is in the admin department- especially at the very start of my studies, the university admin department were very slow at sending out ID card pick up dates, a few accidental yet very confusing duplicate emails were sent out regarding portfolio submission, and my peers generally say they struggle with extracting the correct info from university office administrators.

As an illustration student, the first year at london met involves classes combined with the graphic design cohort. Much of the software and professional training is needed by both sets of students, but sometimes classes can feel very clinical and computer design focused, when i’d enjoy the chance to work on more traditional illustrative skills such as drawing techniques or anatomy tips.

London is very diverse and the great transport links allow you to meet almost anyone in any area and access a multitude of part time job positions while studying. However, rent is extremely high and I personally find it difficult to pay it off each month - even with student loans I still rely on my parents to help me out.
