Loughborough is a great university if you're looking for a campus lifestyle. Everything you need is within a 15 min walk and there is a vibe of a tight-knit community in the first year as everyone lives on campus. However, if a wild nightlife is what you're after then Loughborough may not be the place. There are three clubs including the union and the good thing is that everyone there will be a student however it can get repetitive after a few weeks. Sports and the facilities are amazing here, but very competitive in all aspects.

In terms of studying Geography in particular, the course is really interesting and well structured. I have no complaints about it at all. I never went on a field trip because of COVID-19 so can't comment on that but from what older years have said they are meant to be really good. The placement team are very unhelpful and I had no support when finding my own placement. More could definitely be done here in terms of letting students know when they should start applying and potentially creating links with businesses to offer placements. I had very little support from my personal tutor, I felt as if we were just assigned one to tick a box rather than them being there to actually help us.

Rigg-Rut is a great hall, 3/4 beds and en-suites, as well as a large kitchen. There are lots of hall-organised events to get involved with and there is a real community atmosphere. It is definitely on the expensive side and there are many other halls that are better value for money. It is also a good 15-20 min walk from lots of lecture halls and 30 min from town, so not the best location but it is super close to the library.

The study support staff are amazing and have helped me through my 1st and 2nd year. The events that the uni put on such as fireworks are amazing and a nice break from uni life.

The course is very varied and allows for all different kinds of learning. The lecturers are amazing and are happy to do 1-2-1s and take time out to help you. The online learning over the pandemic was nice and it is good that exams have stayed online for geography.

The uni is relatively close to the town to be able to go shopping. It is also located in a position that there are nice walks to beacon hill.

Time in halls was great that I stayed for a second year and was on committee. The staff were great, if there were issues they would come and sort it straight away or get someone in as soon as possible. It got cleaned by cleaners, the internet was stable and for the price you payed it was good
