The campus is definitely their USP, it's one of the few universities that truly have so much nature and wildlife and I think this has such a positive impact on wellbeing. I do believe Keele could do more to promote that sustainability and wildlife. There are some good communities and actions such as wildlife societies and sustainable housing and gardening but they mostly come from students and not the uni. For example, the uni has qualified to become no. 1 in sustainability and at the same time just recently a hotel has been built that I feel many students don't approve or understand the reasons why. It has taken a big plot of land and resources that could have been invested elsewhere. Students are rarely involved in how the campus is shaped.

Many lecturers available from different subject areas who are usually happy to speak to their students which is great. I also like the hybrid model of online lectures and in person labs as well as the many facilities at our uni. What could be improved is the career opportunities which are advertised as they are mostly either part of the unis master/PhD programs or for industrial year/internships requiring you to remain at the company. It would be good to see more local or short term companies which would enable you to work alongside studies or over the summer.

Newcastle is generally a nice and safe place and all that is required is available at a distance such as shops, bars, and activities. Most sports are based at uni but gyms are available across town and a few nature spots even if one has to look for them a little bit. The bus system is well connected but the times are sometimes inconvenient and need to be planned in advance to the less popular areas which may be relevant with working. Plenty of part time job opportunities but not many science based or degree relevant ones necessarily.
