I love being in Northern Ireland, there’s so much to get out and explore. The university is a real hub and I love being so close to the city centre. Belfast is great for students, I love the live music scene in pubs and bars. My course is taught really well and all the lecturers are really friendly. I have the right number of contact hours that there’s still plenty of time for my own study and wider reading. I recommend joining clubs and societies. It’s great for meeting people and they run some really good events alongside weekly activities. It’s really affordable to live in Belfast. I got a scholarship on my accommodation in first year because I’m from GB so saved 50%! The students union speakeasy is great for cheap drinks ;) It’s a great uni.

It’s been really good to be mostly in-person on my course and I still felt it was very easy to get in touch with my lecturers when I needed to in the few brief weeks we were online. I find most of my lectures very interesting. Work is marked very quickly on the whole but feedback isn’t always given straight away - I can contact my teachers if I want to talk over anything. The French department is good at letting us know about any extracurricular activities or events that we might interested in attending. We haven’t had to buy too many textbooks or resources so the course is pretty affordable.

Really affordable - there’s cheap bars/shops/travel options/etc. Everything is walkable and it’s a friendly city. I feel safe because there’s always people about - even at night. However there a lot of homeless people which is sad to see. I also don’t know if Belfast is as diverse as some other UK cities, although it’s very welcoming.

Really good accommodation, very modern and they offer scholarships so I got it at a very affordable price. The communal facilities are well looked after and all staff are very friendly and quick to respond to any issues. Activities are run every evening in the common room and anyone is welcome, you don’t have to book. My only issue with accommodation was how long it took to be assigned a room. It made my transition to uni more stressful waiting until a week before I moved to be told where I was living.

Overall, Queen's University has served me very well and I am confident that it had provided me with enough skills to enter the workplace.

The worst aspect about the course would be communication with the secretaries in regard to timetabling

I did not find the staff friendly at all. In fact, some were incredibly hostile
