I dont think there is a wide range of societies compared to a lot of universities, and if you don’t drink there’s not much advertisements of activities for sober people or activities that aren’t nights out in general

Best is that some lecturers are very clear and helpful, we get plenty of hours contact (5 days a week) and everything is in person. The worst is that the content is sometimes confusing and the lecturers are sometimes not engaging in the slightest. I’d like more chance to practice my knowledge as I have done all practise questions available to me and still feel I need to work more

I think that the school of chemistry staff are friendly and easy to talk to. The building that they are in, JBL, is probably the most awkward building to walk to in my personal opinion which makes me not want to go to JBL.

The course is taught nearly always in person, bar the covid years. and there are a lot of hours for the course. Typically online lectures are due to a guest lecturer speaking that can't come in to lincoln. Forensic Chemistry is in bit of a limbo between forensic science and chemistry in that it feels we're being pushed towards forensic positions but also expect to know about chemistry positions. This semester I've only had 2 mandatory tutor sessions. I can see them outside of this but it is unlikely.

I loved the people that I lived with in first year when I stayed in halls. St Marks was new so it was very clean. The floors do get very dusty which was annoying since you could clean it one day and then 2 days later dust bunnies and hair are all over the floor again. Lincoln student halls are very expensive despite the fact they are self catered. When compared with other universities that have catered and self-catered universities self-catered accomodations are a lot cheaper. All Lincoln halls are self-catering halls so it feels incredibly hard to balance rent and money for food. The standard maintance loan doesn't even cover the entirety of the rent I had to pay.
