Being an art student studio space and facilities are of much priority as it’s crucial in exploring and growing as an artist. I think my university is simply awesome in the space it has for my degree and the amount of facilities it provides. One thing it could improve is providing materials for the students like clay for example or paper even. It makes no sense to have to buy these fundamental items that should readily available in an expensive university. Another thing for improvement is wheelchair access. I have specially abled friend who would benefit from ramps/ automatic doors to get into and out of our department. It would bring a smile to everyone’s faces to see our friends not have to think about how to access the front door.

We have the best facility in terms of tutor accessibility and tutor help. We can book time slots on weekdays for a 1:1 session with tutors or if you haven’t been able to book one there are running tutors who are more than happy to help you and talk to you. The online artist talks we have have introduced us to artists from all around the globe with varying practices and backgrounds and all in all it’s a very globalised course.

I would say it’s no different to living in the outskirts of London. It’s a very diverse city and we are all very friendly and welcoming here
