Leeds Arts University provides amazing industry standard facilities for a wide variety of creative minds, allowing for professional, imaginative, original work to be produced by students. The student welfare is incredible and there is a strong sense that all staff truly care about the wellbeing of their students. The campus is modern and easy to navigate, making it the perfect place of study for students from all walks of life, especially those anxious about larger institutions. To improve, I hope that Leeds Arts University expands their social opportunities for students such as expanding the student union and adding more spaces for rest and socialisation on campus. An additional library could also help increase spaces for quiet work.

The content of the BA Fine Art course at Leeds Arts University offers an exciting, dynamic and challenging environment for students to flourish creatively. The size and facilities within the studio spaces makes for an environment that harbours creative minds and encourages work flow. Contact hours are low, however, tutors are usually available for one to one contact throughout the week that can easily be arranged through email. The benefits of low contact hours and minimal creative limitations in assignments are that students come out of the course feeling ready to enter the independent art world without the assistance of a tutor needed. Careers prospects, although made clear, are always a point of anxiety for creative students, however, I would suggest that there are no notable improvements that could be carried out by staff to ease these anxieties as they are expected in any competitive, creative field.

During my first year I stayed in the halls recommended to me by (but not associated with) the University. Overall the handling of students whilst in the Covid 19 Pandemic could have been improved due to the lack of refunds given to students unable to access their accommodation for several months. The safety of the location was also a concern for me as I was unused to large cities before moving to university and therefore the distance to the campus was, at first, overwhelming for me. The internet was always easy to use and held a good connection, especially when using it for online learning. Overall, I did however find the room to be overpriced and regret my decision to live there. I have since found out that the university no longer put new students in contact with this provider, which I believe to be the correct decision.
