I have been a student at this University for three and a half years. As I was an undergraduate student at the beginning and now, I am a postgraduate student. I have received a first-class degree for my undergraduate course. Despite the disadvantage we all had due to Covid and my disability. I love studying at the University of Greenwich. This is why I wanted to continue my studies and I was given a half scholarship. I enjoy the people around the campus as they are very welcoming and understanding. However, this year I found it challenging due to inconsistency of support workers attending my lessons and assisting with my assignments (scriber) and sometimes no support workers attend my lessons. Therefore, I have fallen behind on my assignments and I submitted works that I was not pleased with due to the circumstances and I was involved in a fire incident at the campus which dint help the situation. During this difficult period, I had support from people around the university such as: Student Wellbeing Service. My professors and my peers and other services/departments that assists me by allowing, me to book room in their facility areas. Therefore, I could have my own space to work with my support worker without any distraction or without disturbing anyone else. This show the University understands my current situation which is great.

The best aspect of my course is that we have different views within the financial industry with our subject and understand the life lesson of case studies such as the financial crisis in 2007. I do prefer face to face lesson but, I completely understand the circumstances of Covid which makes it difficult to do some face-to-face sessions. I prefer the interaction between the professor and the student as I could see and hear clearly. However, online learning isn't all too bad since it gives student a flexibility to learn from their home as some people find it convenient for them, because it might be difficult to travel to campus like myself and they still may be vulnerable of the virus including their loved ones. Even for myself sometimes I don't feel well, or I have medical appointments, or my wheelchair isn't working or recently the storm I sometime prefer working from home due to the scenario that I have mention above. The worst aspect of my course is that sometimes if I am working from home I can’t hear or see what the professor what they are displaying on their screen online, and it take several minutes to see and hear. Also, the audio is terrible, so I try to watch the recorded video. But while watching the recorded video, there is some disturbing noise sometimes. Previously, I mentioned that I didn't have support worker to attend my class, so I sometimes don't find the recorded video of the lecture on Moodle page.

I'm loving my time at uni so far! For me, the best part was meeting so people in my program and other programs as well ! It's been great making those connections.

Some courses are better held in person, while others could be offered online. Some tutorials really need more structure, especially those that require software to be downloaded. In my case, the SPSS lab sessions needed more structure. I wish that the tutors would focus more on the practical part of the content, using Excel and Python. The students could read the lectures at home and during sessions focus more on the questions and practical skills that we will need.
