DMU is generally good at providing the best service for everything whether it be faculty, study programmes or events.

Lecturers could use some time to actually go through their content on ppt rather than just reading it out loud during lectures. That really does not help. Some explanation with extra examples would be better.

Best Aspects: DMU is well located within the city with a welcoming environment for international and UK students alike. Has ample on-campus facilities, or at least enough where you're able to make use of them for your studies, with the added availability of help and support from the Student Advice Centre. DMU Global adds another dimension to the university experience, allowing students to go on enriching trips and experiences. The emphasis on placement opportunities and talks about them is another good thing that prepares students for their future careers. Good variety of student societies to join, as well as opportunities to have a good time in the city with decent enough night life. Worst Aspects: Limited contact with personal tutors, only a few emails the whole time I was at DMU but they may be available to help you with things if they're not busy. The food hall is quite pricey for students especially those who don't have time to go home to make lunch with the 1 hour free period between lectures - get a meal deal from Tesco or bring your own lunch. The heavy workload with eight modules per year in my course can be overwhelming, although it's a good thing that improvements are being made for new students with the new course structure being offered nowadays. Leicester, while offering some opportunities for nightlife and making friends, isn't the best city really, but it's not the worst either. Definitely not the safest city though, there are some dodgy people who roam the streets especially at night but most UK cities have that problem.
