Could do with a gym/more sport societies, students like variety, student union is sparse and unconnected

The community and location is great. We're based in what's known as the London Design District (North Greenwich), We have access to the O2 Arena which is right next to us, shops are close, tube line is 3 mins away lot's of places to relax and explore. we are lucky to be studying in a newly built area. Despite it being a campus, inside Ravensbourne there 9 floors and lots of open spaces and rooms for lectures and study as well as all the facilities we need. Would help if the lifts were more reliable. Getting to the 9th floor when the lifts are broken is quite annoying from time to time. Despite that, all the other resources and facilities are great, the edit suites are particularly nice for doing projects and collaborating... Life as a student could be better. Due to the nature of our course, the work can be easily done from home/accommodation. Personally I think student life will start to get better once COVID-19 is less of an issue and everyone has settled into their living situation. Things have gone slowly to start with so I think it's just taking time to get use to it all. Student union is okay. Not had too get involved with it that much but they seem to advertise some fun things and I think the support is there. I've just ever needed to use it or anything.

The course at the moment is all taught in person with online 1:1s and sessions in case people can't come in. The content of the course is very industry focused which I think is what they outlined at the beginning of the course. Some people aren't too keen on working in the industry of Film/TV editing & post-production. They want to do online promotion and social media. However, if you are into the industry then this course is great. The lecturers are all working/have worked within the industry so you get first hand knowledge of what goes on. There are plenty of guests that come in to talk about different aspects of post within the industry, as well as editors coming in. Some of the workshops/tutorials are a bit dull as we're learning things that we already know, but this is to make sure everyone is at the same level. Due to the nature of our course, a lot of people can go home and edit instead of coming into lecturers to do work. This causes lower attendance for in person lectures and makes the environment a bit boring. The tutors are fairly active during the day, even if we're not in lectures. They respond pretty quickly to email and aula. There's always multiple lectures in the building so when we have our sessions there's enough help available for those who need it. Work placements and internships are pretty good. There have been a few editing jobs released through the uni emails as well as internships. Although a lot of the editing jobs are more applicable to the higher years and graduates so sometimes we have to dismiss them. There are also plenty of options for careers after we finish. The course has loads of contacts with Soho post-production houses and studios. Some students even get work whilst they're still studying. Generally a lot of Ravensbourne post students have a high chance of getting into editing jobs because companies are familiar with the university, and how well ran the editing course is and the students that come from it. As said previously, Ravensbourne's faculties are great! The edit suites and studios are handy for collaboration and getting edits done quickly and effectively. The suites have all the equipment and hardware needed to edit and there are also loads of staff and technicians that are around to help. Think that's everything ������
