The Film, Theatre and Television department is a small but well-equipped department with a modern faculty building housing flexible theatre and film studio spaces. Staff are friendly and approachable, as are the administrative staff. The UoR campus generally is large with a mixture of faculty buildings that vary in age and quality, there is plenty of green space to refresh and relax in.

As a PhD candidate I can't speak on the taught courses, the contact time with supervisors has been excellent and I have felt welcomed and supported at the start of my research.

I live in Reading, so I am biased, but I think its a great place to live. There are excellent transport links including a good local bus service and easy access to London or beautiful countryside. Property used to be very affordable, and even with generally ridiculous rises in prices and rents Reading is still more affordable than Greater London. Serious culture vultures will miss a major arts venue, but there are some excellent small venues and a new independent cinema.

My best experience in university so far is my course and all the people i have met and worked with as well the projects and events provided by the course. My worst or not most favorite experience are the social life in university, its hard to connect with people outside of my course even during university events and unions because everyone has their own group
